building a New Business Network & Asset Creation

The Guild believes that resurfacing generations’ worth of shared knowledge and cultural strength will usher in transmutation and high vibrational change within, and beyond, urban neighborhoods.

By creating inspired containers for beautiful things to unfold, the wisdom, knowledge and power of residents is resurfaced, tapped and leveraged into lasting change.

One such example is Guild member Mike Massey, who joined the network in conjunction with a nationally-inspired initiative to support systems-changing ecosystems dedicated to healthy food, wellness and racial equity in local communities.

After impassioned months of bringing yoga to public school kids, state detention facilities, and homeless veterans’ shelters, Massey knew he needed help to expand his teaching outreach. He dreamed to train new yoga teachers from within the Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan communities to amplify access to health and wellness programs. In the Guild, Mike found a welcoming community and headquarters for his wellness business.

Not only was Mike given the necessary support and space to build his market and to become certified to train new yoga instructors of color, he was able to leverage The Guild’s shared resource model for new yoga equipment and graphic design to market and host his Yoga Teacher trainings.

Moreover, Mike found his own healing through a sense of belonging and home in the Guild.

“Whatever I’ve needed, [the Guild has] gone three times as far to help me, because they know that's what I need to heal the community,” Mike says.
